JES Sofie the Safety Seal

Jeff Ellis Swimming (JES)

Come and join the Jeff Ellis Swimming Program for your swim lesson season and be introduced to Sophie the Safety Seal.  Sophie is the new mascot for the JES Program and is used to illustrate the Sophie the Safety Seal is "WATERSMART" poster for all students to learn about being safe in and around the water.  Along with the safety poster Sophie is featured on the Skill Cards that are given to students at the end of a session of swim lessons.  Join the Jeff Ellis Swimming Program and allow Sophie the Safety Seal to be part of your facility's swim lesson program.

JES Program Levels

JES Program Levels

Preschool Level - Introduction to water skills. Students begin to get comfortable in the water through water adjustment skills. This level also has the option to either have the parents in the water or out. The skills for the level remain the same regardless.
Beginner Level - Basic water skills. Students begin to develop their fundamental skills of swimming.
Advanced Beginner Level - Students are introduced to new skills while working on previous learned skills and begin to increase the distance they are swimming.
Intermediate Level - Students continue to build on the skills through practice and drills while working on stroke development and endurance.
Advanced Level - Students continue to work on refining their strokes further with an advanced level of proficiency.

JES Program CoodinatorsProgram Coordinators

Program coordinators are trained, authorized and licensed by Jeff Ellis Swimming to locally administer the program for their aquatic facility. Program coordinators are also responsible for training and licensing all swim instructors employed to teach at their aquatic facility. Program Coordinators must be 18 years of age. The Program Coordinator License is $275 and the Renewal Program Coordinator License is $225. To become a Program Coordinator please checkout our scheduled classes in "Our Services".

Swimming Instructors

The prerequisites for training as a JES swimming instructor are very simple: the candidate must be 15 years of age and be able to perform the skills in the level they wish to teach. Jeff Ellis Swimming Instructor licenses are good for one year. 

JES Materials

Jeff Ellis Swimming materials include the Program Coordinator manual, Swim Instructor manual, Sophie the Safety Seal Poster and Skill Cards.

Jeff Ellis Swimming Implementation

Clients who annually retain Jeff Ellis and Associates, Inc. as their aquatic safety provider are automatically eligible to utilize Jeff Ellis Swimming at no additional membership fee. Jeff Ellis Swimming is designed for lifeguard clients only. Professional technical support is afforded to all authorized JES program coordinators and swim instructors.
